Throughout the pandemic, Denmark has been considered to be a shining example of how to deal with a global virus. With one of the lowest death rates per capita, this makes it a reliable place to get away if you fancy a break. If you do head to the happiest city in the world, check out the Little Mermaid statue, the Christiansborg Palace and Tivoli Gardens. Then it will be time for a cocktail in one of these fantastic bars!
Lidkeob, Vesterbrogade 72B
A bar that prides itself on its whiskey, the Lidkeob is a great place to enjoy a cocktail. With a conveyor belt of house punches, you're sure to love whatever concoction they place in your hands. The bar boasts a variety of indoor and outdoor areas, so you can take your seat wherever you most feel comfortable.
Kyros & Co, 13 Teglgårdstræde
This unique speakeasy style bar is not the place to go if you are craving a classic. Every single cocktail made at Kyros & Co is different, with all the bar staff being thoroughly trained to understand how flavours and ingredients work together to create magic. This allows them to work with seasonal ingredients, anticipating the best mix of ingredients to make a special drink for each customer.
Balderdash, 11 Valkendorfsgade
If weird and wonderful is what you are looking for, Balderdash will be happy to oblige! This bar is run by the same team behind Kyros & Co but the ethos is a little different. There are set cocktails, including some simple classics. But instead, why not enjoy some of the strangest cocktail concoctions ever? Try a drink with ice cream in it? Or a Midori slush? They have a recipe that includes seaweed and one with smoked bone marrow and fish sauce! This is a bar menu that has to be seen to be believed!
Brønnum, 1 August Bournonvilles Passage
For the most amazing classic cocktails, Brønnum is best! This bar is a favourite retreat for creative types, having been in place for over 125 years. With age, comes some fascinating history, knowledge and culture, making it a fantastic bar for tourists - particularly those who are looking for a really well-made drink!

Strøm Bar, Niels Hemmingsens Gade 32
This stylish bar is run by two Danish brothers who specialise in classics with a twist. Enjoy a little champagne with your Old Fashioned or a minty Negroni or try something completely new from the extensive cocktail list.
Denmark might not be one of the first places you think of for your cocktail fix, but it is definitely a country to watch out for. The bartenders are getting better and better, and the Danish certainly know how to drink!
