Mocktails can often be an underrated choice of drink. They can feature almost any ingredient an individual wants, while each sip of a mocktail can be a magical adventure for the drinker’s tastebuds; something that isn’t always possible to obtain with everyday drinks. While many recipes and kits that combine ingredients can be used, like those by Cocktail Crates, part of the fun of mocktails is that anyone can make them.

Gaming has always been a popular form of entertainment for many, making it a fond source of inspiration. Drinks can be the perfect accompaniment when hosting a party and playing games, so what could be better than combining the two and creating themed beverages that everybody can enjoy?

Classic Games and their Mocktails

There are plenty of ways to create several fun mocktails, and the internet is an incredible resource for finding unique ideas. Classic arcade games can be a great way to find a theme for a mocktail, as these titles can evoke emotions of nostalgia.

At the same time, adult-themed party games like Cards Against Humanity, Pick Your Poison, or other card-themed games designed for older players can be a great way to find ways to invent interesting mocktails.

Mocktails Inspired By Casino Games

Due to the broad coverage that games can provide due to the vastness of the industry, it is possible to look further afield and see how casino games can offer inspiration for mocktail creations.

The slot industry is among the best sources of inspiration, as there are so many different options available. For instance, several sweet-themed games are playable, which may help to create drinks. Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush could be a good game to take inspiration from, as the developer uses several different sweets that could be used to create a drink. You could take inspiration from the shapes and colours of the symbols from the game, like love hearts and gummy bears, and add them to a mix to make the drink visually appealing and sweet!

A mocktail based on a classic table game could be created if slots aren't your thing. A game with simple rules can be used to create a drink with basic ingredients. For instance, you could create an easy mocktail that consists of:

  • Cubed or crushed ice

Mocktails and Films

While games are often a popular medium, so are films. The movie industry has had its fair share of piggybacking, with other entertainment forms and industries looking to take inspiration from the released box office hits. Indeed, if they are commercially successful, it makes sense for businesses to use them as themes for inspiration for themselves.

Individuals looking to make their own mocktails can use Hollywood to create unique mixes. The Day After Tomorrow could be a great option, as it features some basic ingredients that can create a blue-coloured drink that matches the movie's aesthetics, representing the new ice age depicted. A cup of blue Hawaiian Punch, some blueberries, a banana, 2oz of simple syrup, and ice are enough to create this interesting mix.

Have Fun

One of the best things about mocktails is that they can be made up to be almost anything you want. You can blend a mixture of ingredients and enjoy some unique tastes! If you’re struggling to think of what to create, perhaps look at your favourite forms of entertainment to find a mix that can wow your taste buds and your friends and family the next time you host an event!
