Power tips
Elevate the The Jeremy Renner with these master mixologist tips
- Treat the whiskey split as a tuning knob: keep Jameson at 30 ml for the honeyed lift, but adjust the rye portion by proof/age. If your rye is especially spicy (or higher proof than Rittenhouse BiB), drop it 5 ml and add 5 ml more dry vermouth to preserve the drink’s intended “Manhattan-adjacent” balance. Conversely, if your rye is softer, bump the rye 5 ml and reduce vermouth 5 ml to keep the backbone firm against Cynar.
- Dial in dilution like a pro—this drink lives or dies on it. Aim for a long, quiet stir (25–35 seconds) with large, cold cubes to reach a silky texture without watering out the Cynar/Maraschino interplay. A practical target: the drink should feel lightly viscous and the lemon oil should sit on a tight, glossy surface—not break up into a watery sheen.
