Take A Trip To Cocktail Paradise
Jump to
The winter months seem to drag forever, and even now, with the end of February in sight, the cold doesn’t seem to have eased up all that much. As much as we enjoy our warm cocktails, it is time to find somewhere more appropriate for ice-cold beverages.
This is the time of year when we all start to dream of tropical destinations where the sun warms our skin and a cocktail keeps us cool. With that in mind, we have put together a list of the best cocktail getaways, so you can be sure to taste some of the best mixed spirits you’ve ever tasted!
Singapore
If you’re the kind of person that says ‘Singapore’ and immediately thinks ‘Sling’, then this should be the first place on your cocktail itinerary. Of course, the classic drink was born here, in the famous Raffles Hotel, and it is still the best place in the entire world to drink it. The surrounding bars have upped their game too, so you won’t have to stumble too far to find more cocktails!
Barcelona
The city of culture and cocktails! If you are heading to this stunning Catalonian city, then expect your cocktails to be full of rum and fun! Bacardi is the spirit of choice in most establishments and you can’t leave without sampling a Daquiri, or five, or six! Expect to be partying until the early hours!
Budapest
If European culture is of interest to you, and you’ve already been to Barcelona, then Budapest should be your next stop. The capital of Hungary, Budapest is all about history, with museums, castles and architecture galore – even the pubs have been set up in ancient ruins for a drinking experience you will always remember! And if you are a cocktail connoisseur on a budget, fear not, as Budapest is the cheapest place to drink in Europe!
New York
Of course, the world leader of all things cocktail, New York is the city to head for to check out the latest innovations in the world of mixology. If you have dreams of sipping colourful concoctions in the sun, however, book that trip for a little later in the year! New York barman are well aware that they are now having to compete with Londoners in the battle to be the best place for cocktails, so expect the unexpected on your vacation!
London
Although it has been simmering in the background for a while, London is now the favourite destination of professional bartenders who are looking to hone their craft. The only downsides are that you can never guarantee the weather (take your brolly!) and there are no beaches nearby! Do you want the best cocktails in the world or not?!
We hope you get the chance to visit one or more of these amazing destinations in 2018. Each one has so much more to offer than a few drinks, but those cocktails certainly sweeten the deal!
