The Auld Alliance (Scots for "Old Alliance") was an alliance between the kingdoms of Scotland and France. This cocktail does just that - it combines crème de cassis and Scotch whisky.
The bizarre combination of Scotch, crème de cassis and egg white gives a very interesting taste. It's fruity, but smooth.

Method
Put all the ingredients into a shaker with no ice. Start with the egg white just in case you make a mistake when separating the egg white from the yolk. Dry shake (without ice) for 30 seconds. Add ice and shake for another 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with dark fruit and lemon rind, and serve.
