Cocktail Colin says:

4/5

Eldercooler's blend of elderflower syrup and white vermouth creates a refreshingly floral cocktail with a delicate complexity, elevated by its sparkling soda water finish. A sophisticated choice for a balmy evening.

Method
How to make a Eldercooler

Serves 1 · Takes 3 minutes
Fill the glass with a generous amount of ice
Pour in the cordial and the vermouth and then top up with the soda
Stir before serving
~ Since this cooler was a child of experimenting, feel free to tweak it to your preferences - you might switch the cordial for St-Germain (or other elderflower liqueur), or swap the soda for tonic or lemon-lime soda you prefer. Since the concept 'cordial' is ambiguous in the different parts of the world, I must note that in this recipe it refers to the syrup of elderflowers and doesn't have any alcoholic content. ~

FAQ's

INGREDIENT_SUBSTITUTIONS

Can I substitute elderflower syrup with something else in the Eldercooler?

Yes, if you don't have elderflower syrup, you can substitute it with elderflower liqueur for a slightly stronger alcoholic content or a floral syrup like lavender or rose syrup for a non-alcoholic version. Adjust the sweetness to taste.

GARNISHING_TIPS

What are some garnishing suggestions for the Eldercooler?

For an elegant touch, garnish your Eldercooler with a fresh sprig of mint or a lemon twist. Edible flowers can also add a beautiful visual appeal and complement the floral notes of the elderflower.

NON_ALCOHOLIC_VARIATIONS

Is there a non-alcoholic version of the Eldercooler?

Absolutely! For a non-alcoholic Eldercooler, simply replace the white vermouth with a non-alcoholic white wine substitute or more soda water, and ensure you're using non-alcoholic elderflower syrup. Adjust the quantities to match the original cocktail's flavor profile.

SERVING_SUGGESTIONS

What is the best way to serve the Eldercooler?

The Eldercooler is best served cold in a highball glass. Fill the glass with ice, add the ingredients according to the recipe, and gently stir to combine. Garnish as desired and serve with a straw.

ALCOHOL_CONTENT_COMPARISON

How does the Eldercooler's alcohol content compare to other cocktails?

With an alcohol content of 3.69%, the Eldercooler is relatively low in alcohol compared to many classic cocktails. It's similar to light cocktails like spritzes or shandies, making it a great choice for those preferring a milder drink.
