The Neep sits firmly in the tropical highball family: a tall, fruit-forward rum drink that leans into easygoing, beach-bar energy without needing a complicated backstory. With spiced rum as the base, you’ll find it reads like a modern, crowd-pleasing cooler—built for bright juices, a touch of colour, and an uncomplicated, sunny profile.
On the palate, the spiced rum’s warm, aromatic character anchors a generous mix of citrus and tropical fruit. Pineapple juice brings rounded sweetness and body, while orange juice adds soft, familiar citrus that keeps everything smooth. Grapefruit juice cuts through with a sharper, slightly bitter edge, stopping the drink from drifting too sweet. A dash of grenadine deepens the fruitiness and adds a subtle pomegranate-like sweetness that ties the pineapple and orange together.
Serve it in a highball when you want something long, refreshing, and unapologetically fruity. You’ll enjoy it most as a laid-back afternoon sipper, at barbecues, or whenever you’re after a rum drink that feels bright and approachable, even for guests who don’t usually order spirits-forward cocktails.

Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Spiced rum leads with warm spice wrapped in lush pineapple juice and a big wave of orange juice, while a dash of grenadine adds a candy-like red-fruit sweetness and grapefruit juice brings a tart, slightly bitter snap on the finish. The citrus acidity keeps the juices from feeling flat and the grapefruit edge reins in the grenadine, making it ideal for home bartenders who want an easy, tall tropical sipper and don’t mind a sweeter profile.

FAQ's
What type of glass should I use for The Neep?
The Neep is best served in a highball glass, which allows enough room for all the ingredients and ice, enhancing the drinking experience.
Can I use a different type of rum instead of spiced rum in The Neep?
Yes, you can use a different type of rum in The Neep. While spiced rum adds a distinctive flavor, dark rum or white rum can be used as alternatives, though they will slightly alter the taste profile.
How does the alcohol content of The Neep compare to other cocktails?
With an alcohol content of 10%, The Neep is relatively lighter in alcohol compared to classic cocktails like Margaritas or Martinis, making it a milder choice for those who prefer a more subtly alcoholic beverage.
What are some ways I can customize The Neep to suit my taste?
To customize The Neep, consider adjusting the sweetness by varying the amount of grenadine, or adding a splash of soda for a fizzy variation. You can also experiment with different fruit juices or add a sprig of mint for a fresh touch.
Is it better to shake or stir The Neep, and why?
The Neep is best prepared shaken, as this method combines the diverse ingredients thoroughly, creates a more homogeneous flavor, and introduces a slight aerated texture that enhances its refreshing quality.
