Ouzo Dream is a playful highball that leans into bold liqueur character rather than classic cocktail pedigree. With aniseed liqueur at its core and tropical partners alongside it, you’ll find it sits in that modern, party-drink lane where bright colour and big aromatics matter as much as balance. It reads like a holiday remix: part seaside aperitif, part sweet-shop fantasy, built for easy sipping and instant impact.
On the palate, coconut rum brings a soft, rounded sweetness that sets a creamy tropical base, while crème de banane layers in ripe banana richness. The aniseed liqueur cuts straight through with its unmistakable liquorice snap, turning the fruit notes more perfumed and punchy. A dash of blue curaçao adds a hint of orange-leaning sweetness and a vivid visual lift, and the lemon-lime soda stretches everything out with bright citrus fizz.
Serve it long in a highball when you want something fun, fragrant, and unapologetically sweet. You’ll enjoy it most as a warm-weather sipper, a poolside-style refresher, or a late-night “something different” pick when you’re in the mood for aniseed with a tropical twist.

Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Coconut rum and banana liqueur lay down a creamy tropical sweetness, while aniseed liqueur surges through with licorice intensity; a dash of blue curaçao adds a bright orange-citrus flicker, and lemon-lime soda lifts everything into a fizzy, candy-like highball. It works because the soda’s sparkle and citrus edge keep the rich liqueurs from feeling too heavy, best for adventurous sweet-tooth drinkers who love anise.

FAQ's
What gives the Ouzo Dream its distinct aniseed flavor?
The distinct aniseed flavor in the Ouzo Dream cocktail comes from the Aniseed liqueur, which is a key ingredient alongside Coconut rum, Banana liqueur, Lemon-Lime soda, and a dash of Blue Curaçao.
Why is the Ouzo Dream shaken and not stirred?
The Ouzo Dream is shaken, not stirred, to properly mix the denser ingredients like Coconut rum, Banana, and Aniseed liqueur with the lighter Lemon-Lime soda, ensuring a uniform taste and texture while also chilling the drink more effectively than stirring.
What is the best way to serve an Ouzo Dream?
The Ouzo Dream is best served cold in a Highball glass, topped up with Lemon-Lime soda and a dash of Blue Curaçao for a visually appealing and refreshing cocktail experience.
How does the alcohol content of Ouzo Dream compare to a typical cocktail?
With an alcohol content of 9.5%, the Ouzo Dream is slightly lower in alcohol compared to many traditional cocktails, which usually range from 10% to 25% alcohol by volume, making it a moderately strong choice.
Can I make a non-alcoholic version of Ouzo Dream, and if so, how?
Yes, you can make a non-alcoholic version of Ouzo Dream by substituting Coconut rum, Banana liqueur, and Aniseed liqueur with non-alcoholic alternatives such as coconut water, banana syrup, and a non-alcoholic anise-flavored syrup. Top up with Lemon-Lime soda and a dash of non-alcoholic Blue Curaçao syrup.
