While trekking through the jungles of Jamaica, searching for the elusive caper berry MJ came across a mythical fruit hanging from an ancient tree. MJ pulled one of the hard round fruits off and cracked it open with one crushing blow to his forehead, holding it above his head he squeezed the juice straight down his throat.
Eyes exploding with excitement, two words were born... Jamaican Orange!

FAQ's
Can I use a different type of rum instead of spiced rum for the Jamaican Orange cocktail?
Yes, you can substitute spiced rum with white rum for a lighter flavor or dark rum for a deeper, more intense flavor profile. However, using spiced rum is recommended to best capture the intended taste of the Jamaican Orange.
What are some garnishing tips for the Jamaican Orange?
A slice of orange or a twist of orange peel makes an excellent garnish for the Jamaican Orange. You can also add a sprig of mint for a refreshing aroma or a cherry for a touch of sweetness and color.
What is the best way to serve the Jamaican Orange cocktail?
The Jamaican Orange cocktail is best served in a lowball glass over ice, ensuring it is cold as recommended. Stir the ingredients well before serving to combine the flavors and garnish as desired for an enhanced drinking experience.
How does the alcohol content of the Jamaican Orange compare to that of a standard cocktail?
With a 10% alcohol content, the Jamaican Orange cocktail has a relatively lower alcohol content compared to many standard cocktails, which typically range from 15% to 30%. This makes it a lighter option, suitable for those preferring a milder drink.
Is there a non-alcoholic variation of the Jamaican Orange cocktail?
Yes, for a non-alcoholic version of the Jamaican Orange, you can substitute the spiced rum with a non-alcoholic rum alternative or simply increase the amount of lemonade while adding a dash of non-alcoholic rum flavoring or a spice blend to mimic the spiced aspect.
