Wet Woody is a highball-style, fruit-forward rum cocktail that leans into the “party punch” tradition: multiple spirits, plenty of juice, and a bright, easy-drinking profile that still carries a serious kick. Rather than a storied classic with a single origin point, it fits the modern, bar-built family of tropical long drinks designed to be bold, sweet-tart, and instantly crowd-pleasing.
You’ll find peach schnapps brings a soft, candy-like stone-fruit sweetness that smooths the edges of the rum blend. White rum keeps the base clean and lightly sweet, while overproof rum adds a hotter, more intense rum backbone that pushes through the fruit. Pineapple juice gives lush, rounded sweetness, orange juice adds a sunny citrus note, and cranberry juice contributes a sharper, red-fruit tang. Sour mix ties it all together, lifting the juices and keeping the finish brisk instead of cloying.
Serve it when you want something tall, loud, and unapologetically fruity—ideal for house parties, pre-drinks, or warm-weather nights. If you like tropical flavours but don’t want a gentle sipper, this one suits you: it drinks like a punchy juice cocktail with a rum-forward finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.

Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Peach schnapps leads with candy-like stone fruit sweetness, backed by white rum and overproof rum heat, while pineapple juice and orange juice bring tropical brightness, cranberry juice adds tart red-fruit snap, and sour mix pushes a sharp citrus edge. It works because the sour mix and cranberry juice rein in the schnapps and juices as the rums keep it from tasting flat, ideal for punch lovers who want boozy fruit without fuss.

FAQ's
How does the alcohol content in a Wet Woody compare to that of a typical cocktail?
The Wet Woody has an alcohol content of 13.57%, which is relatively moderate compared to many cocktails. While it is stronger than light cocktails like the Mimosa or Pimm's Cup, it is not as strong as high-proof cocktails such as a Martini or Manhattan, which can easily exceed 20% alcohol by volume.
Can I substitute another type of rum if I don't have overproof rum for a Wet Woody?
Yes, you can substitute another type of rum if you don't have overproof rum. A good choice would be a dark rum for its rich flavor, although it will result in a lower alcohol content and a slightly different taste profile. If you're looking for a similar strength, try to find a rum with a higher alcohol content than standard white rums.
What's the best way to serve a Wet Woody for a party?
A Wet Woody is best served in a highball glass, chilled and with plenty of ice. For a party, consider preparing a large batch in advance and keeping it refrigerated. Serve it over ice in individual glasses, garnished with an orange slice or a pineapple wedge to add a festive touch. This approach not only saves time but also ensures that each guest receives a well-chilled drink.
Is there a non-alcoholic version of the Wet Woody that I can make?
Yes, you can create a non-alcoholic variation of the Wet Woody by substituting the alcoholic ingredients with their non-alcoholic counterparts. Use a non-alcoholic white rum alternative and an overproof rum alternative, or simply leave them out. Combine the non-alcoholic peach schnapps (if available) with pineapple juice, orange juice, cranberry juice, and a sour mix to maintain the fruity and tangy profile of the original cocktail.
How can I customize the Wet Woody to make it sweeter or more fruity?
To make the Wet Woody sweeter, you can increase the amount of peach schnapps or add a splash of simple syrup. If you’re aiming for a fruitier taste, consider enhancing the cocktail with fresh fruit purees or by adding more of the existing fruit juices. Mango or passion fruit juice are great additions that can complement the tropical vibe of the cocktail. Adjusting these elements allows you to play with the sweetness and fruitiness to match your taste preferences.
