Green Fantasy sits in that playful, modern corner of gin cocktails where bright liqueurs and easy mixers take centre stage. Rather than leaning on a well-documented classic backstory, you’ll find it reads like a contemporary, bar-friendly creation: a short pour of spirits and aromatics lengthened with lemonade for a vivid, approachable drink that feels made for casual sipping and a bit of colour in the glass.
On the palate, gin brings a crisp, dry backbone that stops the sweeter elements from feeling heavy. Melon liqueur adds a clean, candy-like fruit sweetness, while red vermouth contributes a darker, gently herbal richness that gives the middle of the drink more depth. Lemonade lifts everything with bright, fizzy citrus, and a dash of lime cordial sharpens the finish, nudging the melon and vermouth into a fresher, more refreshing balance.
Serve it when you want something light, lively, and not too serious—ideal for warm evenings, parties, or as an easygoing aperitif. If you enjoy fruit-forward drinks but still want a hint of grown-up bitterness and botanicals, this one lands right in your comfort zone.

Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Gin leads with crisp botanicals wrapped in sweet melon liqueur, while red vermouth adds a soft, winey bitterness; lemonade lifts everything into a fizzy citrus wash, and a dash of lime cordial sharpens the finish with extra tang. It works because the bubbles and lime cut through the melon’s candy sweetness and keep the vermouth from feeling heavy, ideal for easygoing sippers who like bright, fruity gin drinks.

FAQ's
What can I use as a substitute if I don't have melon liqueur for the Green Fantasy cocktail?
If you're out of melon liqueur, you can substitute it with Midori for a similar flavor profile. If Midori is also not available, you can try mixing a splash of watermelon or cucumber juice with a bit of simple syrup to achieve a somewhat similar taste, although the cocktail's color and flavor might slightly differ.
What are some garnishing tips for the Green Fantasy cocktail?
For the Green Fantasy cocktail, consider garnishing with a thin slice of lime or a small melon ball on the rim of the glass. These garnishes not only add to the visual appeal but also complement the cocktail's flavors. A sprig of mint can also add a fresh aroma and a pop of color.
What is the best way to serve the Green Fantasy cocktail?
The Green Fantasy cocktail is best served cold in a cocktail glass. Before pouring the cocktail, chill the glass to enhance the drinking experience. This cocktail is ideally shaken to ensure the ingredients are well mixed and chilled, then strained into the cocktail glass. Optionally, serve with ice if a colder drink is preferred.
How does the alcohol content of the Green Fantasy compare to a standard cocktail?
With an alcohol content of 5.07%, the Green Fantasy cocktail is on the lighter side compared to standard cocktails, which often have an alcohol content ranging from 10% to 25%. This makes the Green Fantasy a great option for those seeking a less potent drink that still offers the complexity and enjoyment of a cocktail.
What occasion is the Green Fantasy cocktail most suited for?
The Green Fantasy cocktail, with its unique color and refreshing taste, is particularly suited for spring and summer gatherings, garden parties, or other casual daytime events. Its light alcohol content and playful presentation make it a great choice for occasions where guests are looking for something refreshing and not too strong.
