Whether you live in a country that is currently practising self-isolation or social distancing thanks to the current global pandemic, or you have big bank holiday plans with your friends, you are sure to want to partake in a few cocktails. Celebrate the long weekends at home if necessary, but make sure to grab a few ingredients for these tasty beverages when you make your essential shopping trip.

Rose-ecco

A favourite of model Sophie Dahl, this simple but delicious beverage offers an extra special way to celebrate the bank holiday. One worth photographing for your social media accounts, allowing you to share the love with others, even if you can't be with them.

Elderflower and Lemon Tom Collins

An exciting twist on a fun classic, this lemony gin cocktail is sweet and irresistible. If you are feeling a little bitter about the current global crisis, use these lemons to vent your frustration while soothing your nerves.

Sweet Flower

If you aren't keen on the idea of drinking alone, but really want to mark the bank holiday weekend, choose a cocktail with a lower alcohol concentration. That way you get the taste of the spirit, but it will take far longer to get drunk! The Sweet Flower is the perfect drink for this, made with peach schnapps combined with orange juice, lemon juice and grenadine for a gentle cocktail.

Strawberry and Kiwi Margarita

A lovely fruity concoction that is perfect for a sunny bank holiday, this sweet classic remake is one you'll make over and over again. A stunning blend of tequila, cointreau, strawberry liqueur and lime juice, garnished with lots of kiwi, this is a refreshing choice for your celebration drink.

Green Tea Gimlet

Bank holidays were made for gin, and the Green Tea Gimlet certainly is a refreshing take on the traditional Gimlet. Full of healthy antioxidants, you could even fool your self into thinking this drink was good for you!

It is fair to say that the year 2020 has turned out to be rather unusual for most of us, but we can keep our spirits up by making the most of our time. However you spend your bank holiday this May, whether you are having a party for one in your pyjamas or you are lucky enough to be legally socialising, these cocktails are certain to make your day a little bit better.
