Rating

4.31 / 5
The Vodka Jelly Shot is a playful and popular party cocktail that combines the enticing flavors of jelly with the smooth kick of vodka. Traditionally served in a shot glass, this concoction is a solidified treat that invites a more interactive and fun experience compared to conventional liquid shots. Its taste, largely dependent on the flavor of jelly used, ranges from sweet and fruity to tangy and zesty, which is then complemented by the straightforward, clean taste of the vodka. Because of its jiggly and vibrant appearance, as well as its sweet and customizable flavor profile, Vodka Jelly Shots are a go-to choice for celebratory events, especially where a touch of novelty and cheerfulness is desired.

The Vodka Jelly Shot, a quintessential party favorite, expertly blends the playful, jiggly texture of jelly with a punchy hit of vodka for a fun twist on traditional shots. By choosing your jelly flavor, you're in control of steering this convenient-to-make concoction towards sweet, fruity highs or tangy, zesty notes, making it not only a festive visual delight but also a customizable taste adventure suited for any celebratory occasion.

Method
How to make a Vodka Jelly Shot

Serves 1 · Takes 3 minutes
Make jelly according to the instructions on the packet
Leave to cool for some time and stir occasionally so mixture does not set
When it is still warm and liquid, add the vodka
Separate into shot glasses and put into the fridge until it is fully set, and serve
~ Although this recipe seems simple (vodka and jelly -> fridge), be careful of a couple of considerations. Firstly, don't boil the vodka or the alcohol will evaporate. Secondly, don't add the vodka into the boiling jelly mixture, let it cool a little first. Experiment with the quantities to get the potency you are after. Don't overkill on the vodka or the vodka jelly shots wont set, but you can go something along the lines of 50/50 mixture of jelly/water and vodka. One packet of jelly makes eight double shots ~

To ensure a smoother texture, dissolve an additional packet of gelatin into the jelly mixture before adding vodka. This helps the jelly set more firmly and prevents it from becoming too slushy.
Use flavored vodka that complements the jelly flavor. For example, cherry vodka with cherry jelly or citrus vodka with lime jelly enhances the overall taste experience.

Quick and easy to make, but the jelly flavor dominates. Be sure to let it set firmly or it can get a bit messy. Overall, a fun twist, but might be too sweet for some tastes. Good for a simple mix when you're short on time.
