Cocktails You Can Prepare with Wine
This post was written in collaboration with Profy1
In the world of cocktails, wine is often an overlooked ingredient. People associate it with being old and stuffy, but when used in the right way, a glass of vino can make an amazing cocktail. There’s nothing better than drinking a glass of wine that’s been turned into a delicious drink!
It does not matter which wine you give preference to, this might be the Tignanello wine that you regularly order at https://puninwine.com/catalog/wine/filter/brand-tignanello or Lamborghini, we are sure you will find a cocktail that will impress you.
Wine and Tonic
It is as simple as it sounds. Here are the ingredients to be mixed:
- Add ice and a slice of lemon to a glass.
- Add a few drops of bitters, then stir.
- Garnish with lime and mint sprigs, if desired. You can also add gin or vodka instead of wine if you like your drinks stronger!
- Finally, top off with soda water if you’d like to make this into an alcoholic cocktail, or keep it virgin if you’re counting your calories!
Wine Spritzer
This cocktail is simple to make and can be served in a long glass or wine glass. The sparkling water gives it a nice effervescence, while the fruit juice adds flavor. You can use any combination of juices that you like, but try not to use too much juice, otherwise, it might get too sweet. If you’re looking for something more alcoholic, this drink pairs nicely with whiskey or brandy as well!
Negroni Bianco
Make a Negroni Bianco by mixing gin, Campari, and white wine in a glass:
- Pour 1 oz of gin into an Old-Fashioned glass. Add 2 dashes of Campari, then top with 3 oz of white wine (preferably Italian). Stir well before drinking.
Frozen Sangria
Here are the ingredients that you need to prepare this cocktail that is perfect for summer evenings:
- 1 bottle of red wine (25 oz)
- 1 cup frozen strawberries, raspberries, and/or blueberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 ounces club soda, divided into two cups (Use one cup for the pitcher and one for each glass when serving)
White Wine Bellini
Be sure you have the following ingredients for the cocktail:
- 1/2 cup peach puree
- 2 oz. peach liqueur (such as Poire William)
- 1/2 cup white wine, chilled
To make it, you need to blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Then pour into champagne flutes or glasses filled with ice cubes. Garnish each glass with a slice of fresh peach if desired.
Mimosa
You can make a mimosa with any sparkling wine, but it’s best to use Champagne if you want to be traditional. The basic recipe is one part orange juice and two parts champagne or sparkling wine. If you want to add another layer of flavor, try adding fresh mint leaves or peach slices when mixing your cocktail!
You can serve your mimosa in either a Champagne flute or a wine glass. Both are appropriate for this drink. Garnish with an orange slice or maraschino cherry as desired or go all out by making rose-flavored syrup with which to rim the edge of your glass before pouring in your cocktail mix!
