Mocktails to See You Through Dry January
Jump to
Welcome to 2018, and with it, a whole host of challenges intended to start your new year feeling healthier! Are you participating in Veganauary? Maybe you would rather do a Run a Day for January? Or maybe, you are one of those taking part in Dry January (the horror!)
But Dry January doesn’t mean you have to give up drinking tasty drinks. You can still party with the best of them, but you won’t have a hangover the next day, or that horrible feeling of regret that often accompanies it. We’ve found some of the most delicious non-alcoholic cocktail around, allowing you to quench your cravings without giving in to alcohol.
Hot Apple Pie Punch
The perfect combination of apple juice, vanilla ice cream, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and vanilla extract, this is a great drink to make up at home and then take with you to a house party. Simply warm it up when you get there and enjoy this alcohol-free offering. Watch those hard cocktail drinkers though – they will all want a sip! When Dry January is over, try this again with a drop of rum!
Mojito Mocktail
If the thought of going an entire month without a mojito is more than you can bear, this non-alcoholic version is going to make your day! Replace the rum with a little extra soda and lime and drink up to your heart’s content!
Shirley Temple
This classic cocktail has been delighting the tee-total cocktail drinkers for years, with its deliciously sweet blend of lemon juice, ginger ale, grenadine and sugar syrup. If you are the kind of person who likes your wine sweet and your cocktails even more sugary, then this might turn out to be one of your favourite drinks of all time!
Keep Sober
This tasty tipple even has a name that reminds you of your mission, helping you to stay focused and motivated. Grenadine, tonic water and lemon syrup make up this recipe, for a delightful drink that will make you want to be the designated driver every time you leave the house!
Citrus Fizz
Fruity and fabulous, this sparkling mocktail is always a suitable replacement for alcoholic drinks, giving you a sugar buzz to keep you going all night long! A satisfying drink that contains orange juice, lime juice, angostura bitters, sugar and sparkling water.
Whether your intention is to stay sober for one night, one month or the rest of your life, these lovely beverages are sure to help you keep on track. Let them keep their hangovers! Good luck with your dry mission!
