Quirky Gin fact!

Did you know that the beloved gin and tonic cocktail has historical roots in medicine? British officers in colonial India invented it to make quinine, used to prevent malaria, more palatable. Mixing quinine with water, sugar, lime, and adding gin for flavor, they unintentionally crafted a timeless beverage. Today's tonic water has much less quinine, but this cocktail continues to be a favorite for its crisp, refreshing taste with a hint of history in every sip. Cheers to health and history!

"In mixology, details matter. A slight chill on a glass, a perfectly measured ingredient, or a fresh garnish can elevate your cocktail from good to exceptional. Always seek perfection."

A quick history lesson

Gin, a spirit celebrated for its versatility in cocktails, traces its origins back to the 17th century in the Netherlands, where it was distilled as a medicinal liquor by Professor Franciscus Sylvius. This juniper-flavored spirit then swept through England in the 18th century, famously known as the Gin Craze. Its journey from an herbal remedy to a cocktail cornerstone speaks volumes about its enduring appeal. Notably, the invention of the iconic Gin and Tonic was driven by the British in colonial India, as a delicious means to combat malaria, showcasing gin's pivotal role in cocktail history.
