Santa's Stiff Hot Chocolate is a boozy, winter-warming twist on the familiar mug of cocoa, built in the spirit of après-ski comfort drinks and holiday-night indulgence. Rather than leaning on a long, fixed backstory, it fits neatly into the modern tradition of spiking hot chocolate with rum for extra depth and cheer. Served in an Irish glass, it looks and feels like a treat you linger over—equal parts dessert and nightcap.
You’ll find dark rum brings a rich, molasses-like warmth that stands up to the dense chocolate from the hot chocolate mix. Milk smooths everything into a creamy base, while honey and sugar layer sweetness in a way that softens the rum’s edge and makes the cocoa taste rounder. A dash of vanilla essence adds a gentle aromatic lift, and the cinnamon stick contributes a dry, spiced perfume that keeps each sip from feeling too heavy.
This is the drink you reach for when you want something cosy and unapologetically decadent—ideal for cold evenings, festive gatherings, or a quiet night in. It suits chocolate lovers who also enjoy a noticeable rum backbone, and it’s especially satisfying as a post-dinner pour when you want dessert in a glass.

Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Dark rum leads with molasses warmth folded into hot chocolate and milk, while honey and sugar deepen the sweetness and a dash of vanilla essence rounds the cocoa into a creamy, dessert-like sip, finished with cinnamon stick spice. It works because rum’s richness amplifies chocolate and the cinnamon lifts the heavy dairy, making it ideal for sweet-toothed winter sippers who want a cozy, boozy nightcap.
