Berry Blush is a bright, fruit-forward highball that sits in the modern vodka-and-juice family, with a subtle nod to aperitif-style drinks thanks to the red vermouth. Rather than leaning on a long, well-documented origin story, this one reads like a contemporary crowd-pleaser: easygoing, colourful, and built around familiar bar staples that deliver a “blushing” pink-red hue in the glass.
You’ll find vodka keeps the base clean and neutral, letting the fruit do the talking. Orange juice brings soft citrus sweetness, while cranberry juice tops things up with a sharper, tangier edge that keeps the drink from feeling flat. Red vermouth adds a darker, winey sweetness that deepens the fruit notes, and the simple syrup smooths any remaining tartness. Raspberries reinforce the berry character and make the finish feel rounder and more fragrant.
Serve it when you want something sociable and easy to sip—brunches, casual parties, or a relaxed early evening drink all suit it well. It’s ideal if you like your cocktails on the sweeter side but still balanced, and it’s a friendly option for guests who prefer fruit-led flavours over heavy spirits.

Highball glass
Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Vodka keeps the base clean while red vermouth adds a lightly herbal, winey depth under orange juice, cranberry juice, simple syrup, and muddled raspberry, creating a bright, tangy-sweet berry-citrus rush. The cranberry bite and vermouth’s bitterness rein in the syrup and fruit, making it refreshing for highball fans who like juicy drinks with a faintly grown-up edge.
