Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan is a modern, flavour-forward twist on the Cosmo template: vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry and lime, sharpened into a bright, pink, citrus-led sour. You’ll recognise the drink’s late-20th-century “Cosmopolitan” silhouette, but this version leans into dessert-like aromatics and tropical fruit rather than keeping things strictly crisp and zesty. It sits comfortably in the contemporary era of flavoured vodkas and fruit juices, built for drinkers who want a familiar classic shape with a more playful, perfumed edge.
On the palate, vanilla vodka brings a soft, rounded sweetness that immediately changes the drink’s centre of gravity. Orange liqueur adds a candied citrus lift that bridges into cranberry juice’s tart, red-fruit bite, while passion fruit juice pushes a punchy tropical tang through the middle. Gomme syrup smooths the sharper edges and gives a silkier sweetness, and the lime wedges keep everything focused with a fresh, mouthwatering snap.
Serve it in a cocktail glass when you want something sleek but crowd-pleasing—ideal for parties, date nights, or any “treat yourself” moment. You’ll enjoy it if you like Cosmopolitans, fruity sours, or cocktails that balance tangy brightness with a creamy-leaning vanilla finish.

Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Vanilla vodka and orange liqueur lead with creamy citrus sweetness, while cranberry juice and passion fruit juice bring tart red-fruit bite and tropical tang, tightened by lime wedges and rounded by gomme syrup. It works because the lime and cranberry acidity keep the vanilla and gomme from cloying, and the orange liqueur bridges citrus to tropical; ideal for fans of bright, fruity sours.

FAQ's
How do you properly shake a Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan to ensure it's well mixed?
To properly shake a Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan, first, fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add the orange liqueur, cranberry juice, lime wedges (squeeze juice in before dropping them in), passion fruit juice, vanilla vodka, and gomme syrup. Secure the lid of the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for about 10 to 15 seconds. This ensures that all ingredients are well chilled, mixed, and that the cocktail gets a nice frothy top from the lime and passion fruit juice.
What is the best way to serve a Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan?
The best way to serve a Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan is in a chilled cocktail glass. After shaking the ingredients with ice, strain the mixture into the glass to remove any ice shards or pulp. This cocktail benefits from being served cold, highlighting its fruity and refreshing qualities.
What are some suitable garnishes for a Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan?
Suitable garnishes for a Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan include a twist of lime peel, a thin slice of passion fruit floated on top, or a vanilla bean pod. These garnishes complement the cocktail's flavors and add a sophisticated visual appeal.
Can I use regular vodka instead of vanilla vodka in a Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan?
Yes, you can use regular vodka instead of vanilla vodka in a Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan; however, you may lose some of the cocktail's unique vanilla flavor profile. To compensate, consider adding a drop of pure vanilla extract or using a vanilla-flavored syrup in addition to the gomme syrup, adjusting to taste.
What occasions are most suitable for serving a Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan?
A Passion Fruit & Vanilla Cosmopolitan is perfect for sophisticated evening events, dinner parties, or summer gatherings. Its exotic and refreshing flavor profile makes it an excellent choice for occasions that call for something special and out of the ordinary.
