Crazy Diamond sits firmly in the easy-drinking, tropical highball camp: a tall, bright mix built around flavoured rum and fruit liqueur, lengthened with juice and bubbles. It doesn’t have a widely documented origin story, so you can treat it as a modern party-style cooler—more about instant sunshine than cocktail lore.
You’ll find coconut rum sets a sweet, creamy base, while crème de banane doubles down on ripe, candy-like banana richness. Orange juice brings a juicy citrus lift that keeps the sweetness from feeling too heavy, and the soda water tops it all off with a clean sparkle that lightens the texture and makes each sip feel fresher and more refreshing.
Serve it when you want something long, fruity, and uncomplicated—ideal for warm afternoons, BBQs, or any playlist-and-friends kind of night. It’s a great fit if you enjoy tropical flavours and prefer your drinks on the sweeter side, with enough fizz to keep it crisp in a highball glass.

Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Coconut rum leads with creamy tropical sweetness, while crème de banane adds ripe banana candy notes that melt into the bright, pulpy orange juice, all lifted and lightened by a soda water top-up. It works because the orange juice’s tang keeps the rum-and-banana richness from cloying and the bubbles add snap; ideal for sweet-tooth highball drinkers and casual poolside sipping.
