SATC sits in the modern, cocktail‑glass “up” drink camp: a vodka-led, citrus-and-fruit number with a liqueur backbone and a few accent dashes for complexity. It doesn’t map cleanly onto a single famous classic, so you’ll find it reads more like a contemporary, bar-built blend—bright, sweet-leaning, and designed to be immediately approachable rather than spirit-forward.
On the palate, the triple sec brings the main body with orange sweetness and a gentle alcoholic warmth, while vodka keeps the profile clean and lets the fruit do the talking. Pomegranate adds a deep, juicy fruitiness that plays naturally with the grenadine’s syrupy red-fruit sweetness. A dash of lemon juice lifts the whole mix with a quick snap of acidity, and the dash of whiskey sits in the background, adding a faint darker edge that stops the drink from feeling one-note.
Serve it when you want something vivid, fruity, and a little theatrical in a cocktail glass—great for pre-dinner drinks, parties, or anytime you’re craving a sweet-tart sip with a polished finish. If you enjoy orange liqueur cocktails and pomegranate-forward flavours, this one lands squarely in your comfort zone.

Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Triple sec and pomegranate dominate with bright orange sweetness and tart red-fruit depth, while vodka keeps the body clean; a dash of lemon juice sharpens the edges, grenadine adds candy-like richness, and a whisper of whiskey brings a faint warm, oaky flicker. It works because the citrus lift and pomegranate tang keep the heavy liqueur from feeling flat, making it ideal for drinkers who like bold, sweet-tart, fruit-forward up cocktails.

FAQ's
What is the recommended glass for serving the SATC cocktail?
The SATC cocktail is best served in a cocktail glass, as it helps to concentrate the aromas and flavors, enhancing the drinking experience.
How does the alcohol content of the SATC cocktail compare to other classic cocktails?
With an alcohol content of 24%, the SATC cocktail has a moderate alcohol level. It's higher than light cocktails like a Mimosa (around 10%) but lower than stronger drinks like a Classic Martini (around 30-32% depending on the recipe).
Are there any recommended customizations for the SATC cocktail to suit different tastes?
For those who prefer a sweeter taste, adding a bit more grenadine or using a sweeter variety of pomegranate juice can enhance the sweetness. For a stronger citrus flavor, increase the amount of lemon juice. Adjusting the ratio of vodka and triple sec can also tailor the cocktail to individual alcohol strength preferences.
Can any ingredients in the SATC cocktail be substituted without significantly altering the taste?
Yes, if Triple Sec isn't available, other orange-flavored liqueurs like Cointreau or Grand Marnier can be used as substitutes. Similarly, if pomegranate juice is hard to come by, cranberry juice mixed with a bit of lime juice can serve as a substitute, though it will slightly alter the taste profile.
What food pairings would complement the SATC cocktail?
The fruity and slightly tart flavor profile of the SATC cocktail pairs well with light appetizers and seafood dishes. It complements the flavors of sushi, grilled shrimp, or a fresh goat cheese salad. For a dessert pairing, consider a lemon tart or berry sorbet.
