The Naked Cosmo is a stripped-back, citrus-forward take on the modern Cosmopolitan template, keeping the familiar vodka-and-orange liqueur backbone while leaning into a cleaner, more “undressed” profile. You’ll recognise the same bright, up-tempo style that made the Cosmo a late‑20th‑century staple, but here the emphasis sits less on berry-fruit character and more on crisp balance and clarity in the glass.
On the palate, vodka keeps things smooth and neutral, letting Cointreau take the lead with its orange sweetness and gentle bite. Lime juice brings a firm, mouth-watering tartness that snaps the drink into focus, while a measured pour of simple syrup softens the edges and rounds the citrus. A dash of grenadine adds a subtle pomegranate-like sweetness and a blush of colour, nudging the finish toward lightly fruity without turning it into a full-on cranberry-style sip.
Serve it in a cocktail glass when you want something bright, brisk, and confidently simple—ideal as an aperitif or a first drink of the night. You’ll enjoy it if you like your sours on the sharper side, with orange-citrus lift and just enough sweetness to keep each sip polished and easy.

Ingredients
Cocktail Colin says:
Vodka and Cointreau lead with a clean, bright orange-citrus snap, while lime juice drives sharp acidity that’s softened by simple syrup; a dash of grenadine adds a faint berry-like sweetness and a blush of fruitiness without taking over. The balance works because the lime’s bite keeps the liqueur and syrup from feeling cloying, making it ideal for drinkers who like crisp, tart, spirit-forward sours.
