Coronation Cocktails
Jump to
This month marks the coronation of a brand-new king of the United Kingdom. Whether you are a monarchist or not, there is plenty to celebrate. The UK will enjoy an extra bank holiday, and Charles looks set to make a positive environmental impact as part of his powerful new role. So let’s give the King a coronation we won’t remember, with some cocktails inspired by him.
Kir Royal
An obvious choice to bring a bit of class to your party, the Kir Royal should be delicately sipped like the aristocrat you are. A champagne flute full of
bubbles is complemented with a dash of crème de cassis to add a sweet edge to
the sparkling wine. Make sure to stick your little finger out as you enjoy!
Royal Gin Fizz
Everyone knows the royal family love the occasional gin drink, and this cocktail makes for a regal variation on the traditional gin and tonic. Mix gin with lemon juice and champagne for a beverage that will make you tipsy, fast! And if you want to go all out, why not make your gin of choice the Royal Windsor Pink Gin which has been created for this special event?
Crown and Coke
The coronation of King Charles is the day when His Royal Highness will finally get to wear his crown, so it makes sense to drink cocktails that commemorate this
historical occasion. This drink is
basically just whiskey and cola, which we know Charles is fond of, but more
specifically, it should use Crown Royal Whiskey for that regal upgrade.
Coronation
A drink created just for such a momentous event, Coronation is actually a potent cocktail that will bring your celebrations to an abrupt finish! Made with equal amounts of sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, apple brandy, and a dash of apricot brandy, this is one to sip and nurse for a while, or you might not make it to the end of the party!

Queen Elizabeth
As we crown a new king, we also remember our faithful old queen, who spent her life in a role of service. She was the most famous woman in the world, and so she will almost certainly be a big part of the coronation, without being there in person. To make sure that she is, mix gin, vermouth, and DOM Benedictine for a drink she would have adored.
The royal family continues to be a formidable force in the UK, the Commonwealth, and
across the world. The coronation will be a day of joy for many, so it would be
a shame not to taste a new cocktail or two to mark the occasion.
