What is the 2-1-1 ratio?

Cocktail Colin zegt:

The "2:1:1 ratio" is a classic formula widely used in cocktail making, often referring to the proportions of spirits, sour, and sweet ingredients in a drink. This ratio generally ensures a balanced cocktail, giving a harmonious blend of flavors.

For example, in a typical Margarita, the 2:1:1 ratio would be:

2 parts tequila
1 part lime juice
1 part triple sec

This method helps keep the drink neither too strong nor too sweet, providing the perfect equilibrium that is both enjoyable and refined.
