Spin The Glass, Spin The Wheel: Roulette And Perfect Cocktail Combos
Ir a
Roulette is known for its class. The black, red, and green pockets, the numbers, the sense of exhilaration as one approaches the wheel… it’s all about that feeling. This game is possibly one of the most iconic at the casino, hands down. And people all over the world absolutely adore roulette… but we also know that without a good drink, the experience falls apart a little.
That’s true whether you’re in a physical casino or sipping and spinning from the comfort of your couch. The difference is that if you’re in a brick-and-mortar location, you can ask the bartender for a recommendation and even strike up a conversation about your favorite flavors so you know you’ll get something you like. With online roulette, that element is missing, but you absolutely don’t have to settle for a dull gin-and-tonic. You can still get exotic and adventurous, and we’re going to show you how.
Think About Colors
So, you’re settling in for a fun night at home, with friends or solo. You’re about to fire up online roulette at Ignition and start spinning the wheel, but there’s something missing. We all know what it is. A glass of something utterly delectable. Time to get busy in the kitchen.
When it comes to things we’re going to consume, aesthetics are often the key. When something looks great, it tastes great. Now, we’re not suggesting that you should make each cocktail red, black, and green all at once - even for a pro mixer, that would be an extremely tall order. However, you could come up with a few individual cocktails that follow online roulette’s theming and make the most of the iconic colors. If you’ve got guests over, this is definitely a surefire way to impress.
So, where do you start? Well, black might be the trickiest color to pull off, but it’s perfectly possible. Go for black food dye or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, squid ink. This is the perfect way to achieve that rich, deep black you’re looking for. Yes, it adds a salty tang, but that can be a bonus if you pair it with the right drinks.
Next up, green. A green cocktail can be achieved in a myriad of ways. If you’re feeling lazy, just add a slice of lime to your favorite drink and call it done. If you’re more invested, there are tons of green recipes out there, complicated and simple. The same is true of red cocktails; these might be the easiest of the bunch. Go for some cranberry or pomegranate juice, blood orange juice, a few strawberries, a raspberry garnish - the list is basically endless, so tailor it to your preferences, sit back, and enjoy.
Of course, you don’t have to go for the color palette if it doesn’t appeal to you, but it’s one of the best ways to really get into the roulette mood, and if you’re having company… well, that brings us to our next point.

Go For Luxury And Get Creative
Sure, you may want to keep it simple if it’s just you and your digital roulette game on a Friday night, but if you’re having company… well, we can crank things up a notch. Don’t settle for the most basic ingredients, but think outside the box and push the boat out. Maybe you want to add some rose petals to your red cocktail, or some bright sprigs of mint to your green one.
Fresh ingredients bring an extra element, a sense of “Hey, care has been taken here,” and we’d fully recommend them as a way to spice up your roulette offerings. Fruit is always great, but branch out! Consider adding sprigs of herbs, chocolate shavings, maybe even things like olives, onions, pickles, salt, and celery. Remember, you can include pretty much anything, so if you’ve got a creative muscle, flex it, and if you’re stuck, turn to the internet for more inspiration.
A word of caution comes in here though: do think about flavors carefully, not just appearances! Creativity is good.. but not to the point where you’re adding a pickle to a sweet cocktail, or a handful of raspberries to a salty option! Indeed, if you’re planning to come up with your own new recipes, consider experimenting in advance and testing out your creations to make sure they really taste great before you pass them out to your guests. Plus, if you come up with something really outstanding, you’ll want to know so you can make a double-batch. And if you’re really set on including a pickle in the drinks, you can check out our other article on how to do this well.
And for finishing touches, those cute umbrellas are always fun; get them in the corresponding colors, and then mix and match them in the glasses, so your red cocktail gets a black umbrella, your green one gets a red umbrella, and so on. This will add to the theme. Who knows - maybe your guests will even use their drink as inspiration about which pocket color to bet on!
