Did you know that World Ocean Day is celebrated on June 8th? The annual
event has been created to bring awareness to the plight of our seas,
encouraging us to better educate ourselves about the result of our actions. The
ocean covers over 70% of the world’s surface, so the health of it is important
to each and every one of us. If our ocean ecosystems are suffering, then there
is always a knock-on effect to humans, no matter how far inland you may live!

So, why not take some time to learn more about our planet. Pop your feet up in front of a
few tv documentaries and expand your knowledge. Of course, you’ll need a few
cocktails to quench your thirst too!

Dark ‘n’ Stormy

This cocktail is a classic for a reason. It is simple to make and it tastes incredible! Invented in Bermuda, also known as the shipwreck capital of the
world, this drink is made up of just two ingredients: dark rum and ginger beer.
Muddle in a little lime for the most delicious partner to your sea-research
adventures!

Seabreeze

If our first cocktail made you think of pirate ships on stormy waters, this one will
have you dreaming of sunny days on the beach! The ocean is very much a living
thing, encompassing many emotions and throwing mood swings as strong and as
fearsome as a teenager! But when it is calm and tranquil, it is irresistible –
just like this gorgeous drink creation. Made with vodka, cranberry and
grapefruit, this fruit cocktail is just what you need to truly appreciate coastal
bliss.

Ocean Breeze

You may think of the sea and the ocean being the same thing and it is true that the terms are often used interchangeably. However, an Ocean Breeze contains rum and
amaretto instead of vodka, as well as Blue Bols and pineapple juice! In real
life terms, seas tend to be enclosed by land and are much smaller than oceans.
Something to think about when you are deciding between the two delicious
drinks!

Fog Cutter

Thick sea fog can be quite a problem for sailors, so they need a tool that can
effortlessly cut through the mist and improve visibility. The Fog Cutter
cocktail is probably not the right solution, with its blend of Bacardi, cognac,
sherry, gin, orange juice, lemon juice and orgeat syrup, but it sure does taste
good!

Tsunami

When the ocean gets angry, bad things happen, which is why this is a shot that should be
taken with caution! The Tsunami is made up of midori and coconut rum, making
for a tropical delight that is sure to cause some big waves!

You have probably heard about the damage that plastic and climate change is doing to the
world, but it is the oceans that will have the biggest impact on our lives.
While enjoying your amazing cocktails, why not look at some of the things you
can do to make your world a better, safer place to be?
